By admin, June 25, 2010 09:18

Symbian, one of the most familiar operating systems for smartphone devices has entered the touch screen world. The differences between the touch version the regular ver is very important and old S60 smart phone users should know it.

The non touch Symbian smart phones include a lot of 3rd party programs that the new touch mobiles didn’t get that much. The screen of the S60 5th version touch smartphone devices is much bigger then the regular ones. It’s important that you remember that the touch screens are more breakable that the non.

I wouldn’t recommend you to use the touch Symbian smart phone device for know until it will take more control over the cellular market. Users who like to use touch screens can purchase a Windows Mobile smartphone instead of S60.

Open operating system and close OS for smartphone devices

By admin, March 23, 2010 09:46

As recently heard about smart phones, Symbian operating system is becoming open to increase competition in the smartphone field against Android and Windows Mobile. But what is really an open OS and what’s so special about it?

Open operating systems were created to create a market that will develop improvements and updates to the source code thus creating new features on a regular basis to the smartphone interface. Meanwhile, the only open OS there is for smart phone devices is Android.

Smart phone’s Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems are still close. As a result, developers can not change the source code of these systems, but sooner or later they become open to not stay behind Android OS for the smartphone devices.

Symbian useful apps – Quickoffice suit

By admin, March 17, 2010 09:04

Quickoffice was designed to provide a solution for Symbian based smartphone devices because Microsoft Office applications were scripted exclusive for Windows Mobile operating system. The app is not bad at all and is very useful for smart phones.

Quickoffice for Symbian smart phone supports almost all file types of Excel, PowerPoint and Word of the personal computer. The app displayed in a clear view and edit a text on doc files is very easy. These smartphone applications nicely replace the Microsoft Office pack.

It’s more convenient to create doc files in the PC instead of creating it on a Symbian smartphone unless you have a built in hardware keyboard. I recommend the Quickoffice pack only to view or edit Office files on your smart phone but not for creating of new ones.

The new operating system for smartphone from Microsoft, Windows Mobile 6.5, comes with the new devices already. WM 6.1 users will be disappointed to discover that the differences between the two operating systems are minor and will not improve the performance of the smart phone.

Unreal Engine 3 is coming to WebOS smartphone devices

By admin, March 15, 2010 09:01

Palm Company, the owner of the smart phones with WebOS, recently shared with Epic Games an idea. Epic is developing the Unreal Engine 3 for its smartphone devices.

Palm’s smart phone processing capabilities are stunning. Game developers have already received access to the new graphic engine so you’ll see games for WebOS soon. If the new smartphone graphics engine development will work, Apple’s iPhone games will be at a risk.

The problem of Palm’s smart phones is that they aren’t demand in the cellular market. Perhaps after the development of games with Unreal Engine 3, smartphone devices with WebOS will become more popular.

By admin, February 23, 2010 10:46

The two most common Web browsers among smart phone users, both Windows Mobile and Symbian, are Opera Mobile and Mini. Those web browsers are manufactured by the same company but intended for different actions, but what is certain is that smartphone users have received over the power to view web content just like on PC.

Opera Mobile is designed to provide internet content in the most rapid and easy way the smart phone can give. This web browser can load web pages quickly enough to give smartphone user access to sites with java and content like file downloads, videos, and more.

Opera Mini was created to allow smartphone users with very limited data plan to enjoy the real World Wide Web. The web browser downloads pages really fast with very less bandwidth. It is a free J2ME web browser that works almost on all models of smart phones.

Those both smartphone web browsers, Mobile and Mini, can be downloaded from Opera web site. If you want to enjoy the internet of your smart phone you may download one of those web browsers.

Differences between Ngage and regular Symbian games

By admin, February 21, 2010 10:36

Nokia issued in recent years the Ngage 2.0 smartphone application that intended to replace the standard Symbian smart phone games. According to their claim, the Ngage games have better graphics and sound.

ngage Differences between Ngage and regular Symbian games

It seems that the smartphone’s Symbian and Ngage games are not different in graphics and sound and Nokia misled its customers. The only thing is different is the possibility to set the buttons of the game and set portrait or landscape view in the smart phone.

The smart phone’s Ngage games are really not worth the investment of money. I recommend purchasing ordinary Symbian smartphone games. It’s much better and eats less RAM.

Windows Mobile app – Media Player file support

By admin, February 20, 2010 10:42

Every smartphone with Windows Mobile comes with Media Player application. The software is based on Microsoft’s PC app that all the basic users find it usable.

The problem in Windows Mobile smartphone media player is that it has limited support of media files. The smart phones only support WMV movie files and WMA/MP3 music files.

Coreplayer for smartphone

The solution is to use a 3rd party app for your Windows Mobile smartphone such as Coreplayer that supports more file types like AVI,MPEG and much more. Smart phones users that use media files should purchase other software instead of media player.

When I first saw the HTC HD2 smartphone, I was shocked to find out where the innovations of smart phones have arrived. The device returned the eye with its beauty but also with outperforms.

The HTC HD2 Smart Phone

The HTC HD2 Smart Phone

The first thing I noticed on the smartphone is its large screen. The screen size is 4.3 inches which allows viewing movies and pictures on maximum comfort.
But that’s not all. The screen has 480×800 pixels, that’s a lot for a Windows mobile phone.

The second thing I noticed on HTC HD2 is the quality camera it contains. 5 megapixels will do the work when you want to take photos of family and friends. You can also shoot videos and upload it directly from the smartphone to YouTube.

It is important to mention that HTC HD2 smart phone comes with Microsoft’s new operating system – Windows Mobile 6.5. It contains G Sensor that reacts to the smartphone rotations. It weighs only 157 grams, including battery, and has a built-in GPS that allows navigating destinations without navigation devices.

The most important thing on a Windows Mobile based smartphone is a powerful processor it contains. The processor works at 1 GHz, this is a great treat. In addition, the HTC HD2 smart phone includes 448MB RAM that removes our concern from the opening number of applications simultaneously.

This smartphone is highly recommended for those who love innovations.
