PocketPC Windows Mobile Pocket PC – saying goodbye to those

Bye Bye Pocket PC

Smart phones began to be distributed throughout the world countries while keeping the attraction of new customers to the Windows Mobile operating system. PDA devices are no longer being sold without a phone feature what makes it smartphone, no Pocket PC.

Windows Mobile operating system is going to grow but the Pocket PC devices will be extinct. In any case this does not mean the PDA features will stop; only that device will include the phone feature and will be called as smartphone instead of PPC.

Many of us have heard recently about GPS devices called PNA that come with navigation software and looks like a PDA devices. Make no mistake! Pocket PC devices are very different.

PNA – What is it actually
Personal Navigation Assistant has a built-in GPS receiver and software like iGo, Destinator etc. The device usually comes with Windows Mobile Core Edition that allows a limited number of uses. Some PNA devices allow hearing of music and watching videos. These devices are totally different from PDA (Pocket PC) devices.

PDA (Pocket PC) – Why is it different?
Personal Data Assistant devices come with Windows Mobile Classic/Professional and got all the features like receiving/sending emails, writing content in Word, installing applications and more. PDA device cost about 250$ more then PNA device and allow the GPS navigation and more.
