Recently, after the entry of the smartphone Android operating system, Symbian stood behind. Android is open source smart phone OS that allows code development by third-party programmers.

Symbian Foundation announced that Symbian OS will become an open source. This move intended to attract users of smartphones to return this operating system. Open source is very attractive because it gives freedom for smart phone users to improve and update it as they please.

The advantage of Symbian operating systems for smart phones is its age. Nokia, one of the largest companies, using this operating system on a regular basis for the smartphones it produces so the chances that this operating system will disappear from the market is very slight.
